The Survey of Artificial Neural Networks-Based Intrusion Detection Systems

Abstract

Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is methods which can help Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) through their Learning opportunities. There are different kinds of IDS based on various artificial intelligence methods; one of these methods is ANN which some scholars work on. Two important characters of IDS are speed and accuracy. Our goal in this paper is to survey IDS methods based on ANN; a brief description of ANN, its working operation and a description of IDS are expressed firstly; later in Methods section, some methods are briefly described and then in comparison section these methods compered which cause a better understanding of benefits and defects of each one. At last consequences are obtained by considering the whole mentioned methods
