AI Tools Policy

Permissible Use of AI Tools
The International Academic Journal of Social Sciences (IAJSS) allows the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools—including grammar checkers, translation software, data analysis applications, and content enhancement platforms—to support authors in improving language clarity, formatting, and technical presentation. However, AI tools must be used solely as supportive aids and not as a replacement for the author's original scholarly contribution, interpretation, or analysis.

Mandatory Disclosure Requirement
Authors must clearly disclose any AI tool used during the preparation of their manuscript. This includes identifying the specific tool (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL) and stating its purpose (e.g., language refinement, summarization, data visualization). The disclosure should be made in the acknowledgments section or included as a footnote within the manuscript.

Author Responsibility and Accountability
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and scholarly integrity of their work, regardless of AI involvement. All content that has been generated or modified with the aid of AI tools must be thoroughly reviewed, validated, and contextualized by the authors to ensure it adheres to academic standards and avoids errors, bias, or plagiarism.

Prohibited Uses of AI
The journal strictly prohibits the submission of manuscripts that are entirely or predominantly generated by AI tools without substantial human authorship, intellectual oversight, or critical evaluation. Submissions that depend heavily on AI for generating arguments, drawing conclusions, or synthesizing literature—without meaningful human intervention—will be considered academically insufficient and may be rejected on grounds of lack of originality.

Peer Review Process and AI Restrictions
Editors and peer reviewers are expected to exercise academic judgment without reliance on AI-generated content for reviews or editorial decisions. While limited use of AI for fact-checking or language editing may be permitted, any such usage must maintain strict confidentiality and integrity, and should also be disclosed to the editorial office.

Ethical Compliance and Disciplinary Measures
Failure to disclose the use of AI tools or the misuse of such technologies may be deemed an ethical breach. Depending on the severity, consequences may include manuscript rejection, publication retraction, or future submission bans. IAJSS reserves the right to revise this policy as AI technologies evolve and new ethical implications emerge.
