Plagiarism Policy

The International Academic Journal of Social Sciences (IAJSS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical scholarship. A fundamental element of this commitment is a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism—whether intentional or accidental—undermines the credibility of academic research and violates the trust of the scholarly community. Therefore, IAJSS enforces strict protocols to detect, prevent, and respond to any breaches of originality.

All manuscripts submitted to IAJSS are subjected to rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced detection software. This process helps identify direct copying, improper paraphrasing, and failure to cite sources appropriately. These checks are essential to ensure the originality and authenticity of published work and to maintain the journal’s reputation for academic excellence.

Author Responsibility
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring that their submissions are original and free from plagiarism. All borrowed ideas, data, quotations, figures, or text must be properly cited and referenced according to academic standards. Failure to do so—including omitting quotation marks, not crediting sources, or paraphrasing without acknowledgment—constitutes plagiarism and will result in serious consequences.

Actions in Cases of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any point—whether during submission, peer review, or after publication—IAJSS will take appropriate action. This may include:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.

  • Retraction of the article if already published.

  • Notification of the author's affiliated institution.

  • A permanent ban on future submissions to the journal by the offending author(s).

Retraction Policy
In confirmed cases where a plagiarized article has already been published, IAJSS will retract the article from its archives and issue a formal retraction notice. This ensures transparency and helps maintain the integrity of the academic record.

Ethical Commitment
IAJSS actively promotes responsible scholarship and encourages all contributors to adhere to ethical research and writing practices. Authors are urged to familiarize themselves with citation standards and to exercise due diligence in referencing all source material. By enforcing a strict anti-plagiarism policy, IAJSS safeguards the quality and credibility of the research it publishes and contributes to the global advancement of trustworthy, original academic work in the social sciences.
