Publication Ethics
The International Academic Journal of Social Sciences (IAJSS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and expects all participants involved in the scholarly publishing process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and publishers—to adhere strictly to ethical and responsible practices. The journal aligns its policies with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds the core values of honesty, transparency, and academic rigor.
Author Responsibilities
Authors submitting manuscripts to IAJSS must ensure that their work is original, properly referenced, and free from academic misconduct. This includes avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submissions, and misrepresentation of authorship. Any data presented must be accurate, verifiable, and ethically obtained.
Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must have obtained the appropriate ethical approvals, which should be clearly stated within the manuscript. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research, and all listed co-authors must approve the final version and share collective responsibility for the content. Any potential conflicts of interest—financial or personal—must be disclosed at the time of submission.
Editorial and Reviewer Responsibilities
Editors and peer reviewers are key to ensuring the integrity of the journal. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, and relevance of the manuscript. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and ensure a fair, impartial, and timely review process.
Peer reviewers are expected to assess submissions objectively, confidentially, and without bias. They should provide constructive feedback and alert the editorial team to any ethical concerns, including plagiarism, data manipulation, or other forms of misconduct. The peer review process at IAJSS follows a double-blind model, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout.
Handling of Misconduct
IAJSS does not tolerate unethical behavior. In cases of suspected academic misconduct—such as plagiarism, redundant publication, or data falsification—the editorial board will initiate a thorough investigation. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include manuscript rejection, article retraction, notification to the authors' institutions, and restrictions on future submissions.
