Review Policy

The International Academic Journal of Social Sciences (IAJSS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic quality and ethical publishing. A cornerstone of this commitment is the use of a double-blind peer review process, which is designed to ensure fairness, objectivity, and scholarly rigor in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts.

Double-Blind Peer Review

In the double-blind review model, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other. This anonymity prevents personal, institutional, or geographic biases—conscious or unconscious—from influencing the review process. By focusing solely on the scholarly merit of submissions, IAJSS promotes a fair and equitable review environment that encourages participation from a diverse and global academic community.

Initial Editorial Screening

All submissions undergo an initial screening by the editorial team before entering the peer review process. This preliminary review assesses whether the manuscript:

  • Falls within the journal’s aims and scope,

  • Adheres to submission guidelines and formatting standards, and

  • Demonstrates sufficient academic quality to proceed.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors without external review, helping maintain efficiency and focus in the peer review workflow.

Reviewer Selection and Evaluation

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers with expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are chosen based on their academic credentials, research experience, and familiarity with the topic.

Each reviewer evaluates the manuscript on criteria such as:

  • Originality and contribution to the field,

  • Methodological soundness,

  • Clarity and coherence of presentation,

  • Relevance to current scholarly discourse,

  • Compliance with ethical standards.

Reviewers are also encouraged to highlight any potential issues related to plagiarism, data manipulation, or conflicts of interest.

Reviewer Reports and Editorial Decisions

Reviewers submit detailed reports with constructive feedback and a recommendation, which may include:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The editor-in-chief or designated section editor makes the final publication decision based on the reviewers’ assessments and the manuscript’s overall merit. Authors are notified of the decision along with the reviewers’ comments, and when revisions are required, they are given an opportunity to respond and resubmit.

Commitment to Ethical and Quality Publishing

By adopting a transparent, rigorous, and impartial review system, IAJSS ensures that the publication process is both ethically sound and academically robust. The review policy reflects the journal’s dedication to:

  • Academic excellence,

  • Integrity in research,

  • Constructive scholarly communication,

  • Promotion of interdisciplinary and international research.

Through this policy, IAJSS affirms its role as a trusted platform for the dissemination of high-quality research in the social sciences.
