Abstract

According to Muslim tradition is evident in all of art creation. Islamic artists also based on the belief in
the unity between forms and decorate their creations attempted to using writing to create unity. Saljuk
period is one of the efflorescence era of Islamic art that works surviving from this period is very
important, perhaps metalworking has been known as the height of Seljuk art. This Study has reviewed
incense burners of Seljuk era to study view of artist in matching form and decorate with scripting was
carved on them. For this purpose four examples of incense burners belong to Seljuk period that have
script were selected and were analysed, the results show a very high cohesion between form and
decoration with the script in these incense burners .
