This research investigated the use of generative artificial intelligence technology and its effects on knowledge creation and human creativity. Specifically, this research looked at how the integration of generative AI systems into knowledge-intensive processes like idea generation, content creation, problem-solving, information synthesis, and creative decision making had taken place. The study used conceptual and qualitative methods to analyze the link between generative AI use and knowledge creation/human creativity performance. Generative AI technology was examined in terms of its role in facilitating faster information processing, provision of alternative points of view, knowledge availability, and concept formation. The results showed that generative AI improved knowledge creation by speeding up information synthesis and collaborative learning, while allowing users to generate more ideas in less time. Moreover, it had helped in boosting human creativity through brainstorming, drafting, experimenting, and refining. Nevertheless, the use of AI outputs to an exaggerated extent had created certain fears about the aspects of originality, critical thinking, intellectual property, bias, and even the reduction of any creative effort performed independently. The study also found that the usefulness of generative AI depended not on the tool itself but on how the user worked with it. In turn, human reasoning, expertise, ethics, and reflection had continued to play an important role in evaluating and perfecting AI outputs. Overall, it was found that the best performance of generative AI as a cognitive and creative aid had relied on its complementarity with human knowledge and imagination rather than substitution of these features.
