Abstract

In today's knowledge-based world, knowledge assets and intellectual capital is the main factor of profitability and maintaining competitive advantage of enterprises. The fact is indicative of the importance of intellectual capital, the gap between book value and market value of companies, particularly from the eighties onwards which, according to most financial analysts is related to increasing the company's investment in intellectual capital. Therefore, The main research question is, whether intellectual capital efficiency affects the relevance of accounting information of listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange? The sample includes 138 companies listed on Tehran Stock Exchange. The results of this research using panel data regression (least squares method), suggested that the efficiency of intellectual capital has a significant positive impact on the relevance of accounting information. And the efficiency of human capital has a significant positive impact on the relevance of accounting information. As well as physical capital efficiency has a significant positive impact on the relevance of accounting information. Finally, structural capital efficiency has a significant positive impact on the relevance of accounting information.
