The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between participation rate in decision
making and employee coping with change in Tehran University of Applied Sciences and Technology
(UAST), Department of Art and Culture. To this end, 43 educational and administrative employees and
the faculty members were selected as sample using Krejcie-Morgan table (1998) and simple random
sampling. To measure participation rate in decision making and coping with changes, researcher-made
questionnaire was used. Content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by scholars in this filed and
its reliability was also confirmed using Cronbach's Alpha. At the end, the results obtained from the study
have been analyzed using Pearson Correlation and the results showed that there is no correlation between
participation rate in decision making and employee coping with change. Moreover, no significant
correlation was observed between satisfaction and employee coping with changes; although significant
correlation was observed between difference in opinion and employee coping rate with change (p<0.01).
