AI Tools Policy

The International Academic Journal of Humanities recognizes the increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research, writing, and publishing. As AI technologies evolve, they offer valuable assistance in areas such as language editing, data analysis, reference management, and formatting. However, their use must be conducted responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with established academic and ethical standards.

Authors who utilize AI tools in any part of their research or manuscript preparation are required to clearly disclose such use. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of tools like ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL, AI-based literature summarizers, or data analysis platforms. A brief explanation of the type of tool used and its specific purpose should be included in the Acknowledgments, Methods, or Author Contributions section of the paper.

The journal firmly maintains that AI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances. Authorship entails the capacity to take responsibility for the content, make intellectual contributions, and respond to peer review—functions that current AI systems are incapable of performing. Human authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content, regardless of whether AI tools were used during manuscript preparation.

AI must not be used to fabricate data, manipulate results, generate false citations, or create deceptive content. The misuse of AI in this manner constitutes academic misconduct and will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript and possible further investigation in accordance with the journal’s ethical guidelines.

The use of AI tools is permitted for improving language and grammar, organizing references, or formatting documents, provided that these tools do not alter the original meaning or introduce bias. Authors are encouraged to verify all AI-generated suggestions to ensure that the scholarly integrity of their work is not compromised.

Editors and reviewers may use AI-assisted tools only in limited ways, such as checking grammar, formatting, or similarity reports. However, all editorial decisions, peer reviews, and recommendations must be based entirely on human expertise and professional judgment. AI must never be used to assess content quality, originality, or scientific validity.

Failure to disclose the use of AI tools, or suspected unethical application of such tools, may result in rejection or retraction of the article. The editorial board reserves the right to request clarification from authors regarding the use of AI during manuscript submission or review.

By submitting to the International Academic Journal of Humanities, authors agree to comply with this policy and acknowledge their responsibility in ensuring that any AI involvement adheres to ethical standards. The journal continues to monitor developments in AI technology and may revise this policy to reflect best practices and industry guidelines.
