Plagiarism Policy

International Academic Journal of Science and Engineering (IAJSE)

  1. Zero-Tolerance Approach
The International Academic Journal of Science and Engineering (IAJSE) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of plagiarism. Upholding academic integrity is central to our mission, and any breach of ethical standards in manuscript submissions will be taken very seriously. Plagiarism undermines the trustworthiness and quality of scientific communication, and IAJSE is committed to preventing such misconduct.
  2. Originality Requirement
All manuscripts submitted to IAJSE must be original contributions authored solely by the individuals listed on the manuscript. The content must not have been published elsewhere in any form—print or electronic—nor should it be under consideration by any other journal or publication. Authors are expected to ensure that their work does not include copied, duplicated, or improperly cited content from other sources. Proper attribution and citation of previously published work is mandatory.
  3. Plagiarism Detection and Screening Process
To safeguard the originality of published content, all submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough screening process using advanced plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools. These systems compare the manuscript text against an extensive database of published literature and web content to identify potential overlap or duplication. Manuscripts exhibiting significant similarity to existing works are flagged for further editorial review.
  4. Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the following practices:
  • Direct Copying: Using verbatim text, data, images, or ideas from other sources without appropriate acknowledgment or citation.
  • Paraphrasing Without Citation: Rewriting substantial sections of someone else’s work while failing to provide proper citation or credit.
  • Unauthorized Use of Others’ Work: Submitting research, data, or manuscripts authored by someone else as if it were one’s own original work.
  • Self-Plagiarism (Duplicate Publication): Reusing one’s own previously published work, in whole or in part, without proper disclosure or citation. This includes publishing the same data, results, or text in multiple outlets.
  • Inadequate Citation: Failing to properly credit the original sources of ideas, theories, methodologies, or experimental results incorporated in the manuscript.
  1. Editorial Actions Upon Detection of Plagiarism
  • Pre-Publication: Manuscripts found to contain any form of plagiarism during the review or screening process will be rejected immediately. The authors will be notified of the reasons for rejection and may be barred from future submissions.
  • Post-Publication: If plagiarism is detected after publication, IAJSE reserves the right to retract the published article. A public retraction notice explaining the reasons for removal will be issued to maintain transparency. The retracted article will be clearly marked and removed from future citations.
  1. Consequences for Authors
  • Submission Ban: Authors found guilty of plagiarism may face a temporary or permanent ban on submitting manuscripts to IAJSE, depending on the severity and recurrence of the misconduct.
  • Institutional Notification: The author’s affiliated institutions, funding agencies, or employers will be informed of the misconduct to ensure that appropriate institutional investigations or actions can be taken.
  • Legal and Ethical Implications: In cases involving copyright infringement or fraud, further legal action may be pursued in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  1. Ethical Commitment
IAJSE strongly promotes and upholds the highest standards of academic honesty and integrity. We encourage authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain respect for intellectual property rights. Proper citation and acknowledgment are essential components of responsible scholarly communication.
  2. Author Responsibilities
Authors are ultimately responsible for the originality and authenticity of their work. It is their duty to:
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews to avoid unintentional duplication.
  • Cite all relevant sources accurately and comprehensively.
  • Disclose any prior dissemination of their work, including conference proceedings, preprints, or related publications.
  • Use plagiarism detection tools prior to submission if possible to ensure originality.
  • Cooperate fully with editorial investigations if concerns arise regarding plagiarism.
