Abstract

Technology up gradation has been a challenging task for many SMEs in this era, due to increasing competitive markets, dependency on supply chain and improving the customer base. For this reasons, KM is often referred to as business process management (BPM), as innovation of the technology finds its roots in automating the processes that involve human. The aim of present paper is to introduce Business intelligence as an efficient tool in knowledge management process. To this end, Business intelligence is defined by the relevant model in seven aspects including heart, alignment and congruence, knowledge deployment, strategic vision, shared fate, appetite to change and performance pressure. Business intelligence is a component which should be held by today managers so that they can achieve profound knowledge and, as a result, can manage their organization in today competitive and turbulent environment. Today, knowledge has found a very important status in organizations. Lack of correct recognition of processes and needed resources has led into incorrect assessments and many organizations are not even able to identify right actions and to measure the processes. Current intelligent and knowledge components in organizations can be seen as competitive advantages for organizations by which then can achieve their short and long term aims. Today, organizations compete based on their knowledge and, in this vein, by holding necessary tools; knowledge management creates good opportunity for a competitive advantage.
