The causes and motivates of people who commit suicide (Hospitalized in the section of poisoned people in the Hospital of Imam Reza (AS) of Mashhad)

Abstract

Suicide is the result of psychological pain that its origin is unmet and psychological needs. The person wants to kill this pain somehow and he would be obliged to suicide. Among important origins that society is able to lead it to development and promotion, are human resources and investment in this field can be a guarantee of a dynamic social life. But whereas social problems such as suicide, divorce, unemployment, addiction, etc. can be a serious threat to human resources, especially young people, hence the underlying factors of social problems should be known. The purpose of this paper is the causes and motivates of people who commit suicide (hospitalized in the section of poisoned people in the Hospital of Imam Reza (AS) of Mashhad). This research has done by using case study method (clinical). Statistical society includes all people of males and females 15-30 years age who were transferred to the Hospital of Imam Reza (AS) of Mashhad because of poisoning and intention of harming themselves, and statistical sample is selected among them. Tools of data collection are MMPI personality test and GHQ general health test and CAQ anxiety test. Considering done studies in this research, it can be resulted that the factors such as age, gender, marriage situation, desultory of family and mentioned factors in the research from the person can be effective in suicide attempts. It should be noted that some cases were more severe and some case were less severe. The most outbreaks include high school group and the ones who had diploma, but still educational level doesn’t show a meaningful relationship with the rate of suicide attempts.
