Abstract

The international community has long been considered the terrorism as an abnormal and inhuman phenomenon that seriously undermine democracy, public freedoms. Due to serious and irreparable consequences of this problem, the international community has done the efforts to eliminate or deal with it. The spread of terrorist incidents and diversity, governments and international bodies have tried to inhibit the approach, especially the UN Security Council is responsible as the principal responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. Lack of transparent and acceptable definition of international terrorism not only makes the efforts of the international community futile in the fight against terrorism, but many countries as a result of disagreement over the concept of terrorism have used it as a means to achieve their goals. This is especially clear after the terrorist events of September 11, 2001 of America and taking advantage of the ambiguity of the word terrorism in this country in its efforts to deal with it. Since the international community has already witnessed the spread of terrorist acts and the diversity of unilateral action by some countries, so in this paper analyses the terrorist acts in the Middle East and the General Assembly and the Security Council of the United Nations measures in the fight against international terrorism, and the curbing terrorism strategies will be discussed
