Abstract

This paper was an attempt so as to study the strategies applied for English translations of Allah‟s Attributes of Acts in the Holy Qur'an. Thus, the researchers investigated whether each single translator used similar frequencies of the strategies. To this end, as the corpus of the study, six different English translations of the Holy Qur'an by Asad, Pickthall, Saheeh, Arberry, Hilali & Khan, and Mubarakpuri were selected and analyzed on the basis of a revised version of Chesterman‟s (1997) model. The results of descriptive and inferential statistics indicated that each single translator used different frequencies of the strategies while translating Allah's Attributes of Acts. This revealed the translators‟ preference for some specific strategies.
