Abstract

This research analyses how efficiently SMEs are adopting cloud computing solutions. The focus is on the impacts of cloud adoption on the performance metrics of productivity, operational expense, flexibility, business growth, and innovation. A combined qualitative and quantitative approach is employed by conducting a systematic literature review and analyzing survey data from simulated cloud adopting SMEs. Results show that greater maturity levels in cloud technologies results in better business outcomes though concerns over security and integration tend to mitigate some of the benefits. The research contributes practical guidance for SMEs that are evaluating or implementing cloud solutions.
