Abstract

This paper looks at how the principles of behavioral economics affect the consumption choices made by users in relation to digital markets. Collecting secondary data, this study seeks to address gaps in the literature by developing a typology of cognitive biases associated with heuristics linked to online shopping, participation in platforms, and consumer experience. The emphasis placed on the effectiveness of advertising and marketing strategies has shown that digital consumers are profoundly influenced by framing effects, anchoring bias, loss aversion, and social proof. Digital businesses, particularly startups, remain unaware of the importance of integrating behavioral patterns into system design and marketing with the intention to improve client satisfaction, increase market penetration, and optimize conversion rates.
