Abstract

Malnutrition is one of the world's most pervasive and significant public health concerns, affecting people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, with approximately 2.4 billion individuals experiencing moderate to severe food insecurity and nearly 828 million people chronically undernourished globally. At the same time, over 2 billion people are micronutrient-deficient, with the increasing burden of diet-related complications such as obesity currently at about 890 million adults globally. This complex array of nutritional challenges highlights the urgent need for new, scaled, and evidence-based solutions. This paper explores the efficiency of novel nutritional innovations in combating global malnutrition and public health issues through a comparative analysis. The data were collected through secondary research, sourced from globally recognized bodies such as WHO, FAO, and UNICEF, as well as research databases and peer-reviewed academic papers published from 2018 to 2025. This was then analyzed through scoring, trend analysis, and thematic synthesis of 120 research papers, 35 policy reports, and 18 regional health datasets based on five performance indicators: nutritional efficacy, access, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and impact on long-term health. The results of the comparison between innovative methods and traditional intervention models showed that biofortified foods, digital nutrition monitoring systems, personalized nutrition strategies, and community-based integrated nutritional programs achieved increases in micronutrient uptake (31.4%), adherence (27.8%), improvement in metabolic parameters (24.6%), and reduction in moderate malnutrition rates (22.3%), respectively, compared with traditional intervention models. Ultimately, the study found that the synergy between technological innovation and public health nutrition strategy could offer promising gains in addressing the world's nutritional crisis, enhancing the robustness of healthcare delivery, and contributing to sustainable health development.
