Abstract

In the most cases strength based design does not provide a sufficiently accurate answer. In this method, the possibility of ideal assessment of the structure based on expected performance is remote. Therefore, Performance-based design has been proposed and strength based design has been replaced by performance based design. In this paper, by changing the geometric parameters of steel frames equipped with lateral bearing systems, we tried to check the performance level in these kinds of structures. The results indicate the superiority of the moment frame system
