AI Tools Policy
AI Tools Policy
The International Academic Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management (IAJOBHRM) recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and writing. While these technologies can support scholarly productivity and enhance the research process, their use must be transparent, ethical, and in line with academic integrity standards.
1. Permitted Use of AI Tools
Authors may use AI tools such as language editing software (e.g., Grammarly), translation aids, or content generation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) only for minor assistance, such as:
-
Improving grammar, spelling, and clarity.
-
Enhancing language for non-native English speakers.
-
Generating outlines or suggestions during the early stages of writing.
-
Assisting in data analysis or visualization, provided it is accurately reported.
However, the core intellectual contributions—including the development of research questions, interpretation of results, critical analysis, argument formulation, and conclusions—must originate from the authors themselves.
2. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of AI tools are not permitted:
-
Submitting content primarily written or generated by AI as original scholarly work.
-
Using AI-generated text, data, or citations without explicit human review, editing, and verification.
-
Fabricating references, data, or results using AI tools.
-
Relying on AI to bypass the peer-review process or falsify authorship contributions.
3. Disclosure Requirement
Authors must clearly disclose the use of AI tools in the manuscript, specifically in the Acknowledgments or Methods section, including:
-
The name and version of the tool(s) used.
-
The purpose and extent of use.
Example:
“Portions of the manuscript were edited using Grammarly Premium. Additionally, ChatGPT (OpenAI, version May 2024) was used to help refine the structure of the literature review section under the direct supervision of the authors.”
4. Author Responsibility
Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of all content submitted to the journal, regardless of AI tool usage. They must ensure that:
-
The manuscript adheres to the journal’s ethical and academic standards.
-
No content violates copyright or contains unverified, misleading, or plagiarized material.
5. Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors must not use AI tools to generate or summarize peer review reports unless:
-
The journal explicitly permits such use.
-
They disclose the use to the editorial team.
-
They independently verify the content before submission.
6. Policy Violations
Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
-
Rejection of the manuscript during editorial review.
-
Retraction of published articles.
-
Notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions in cases of serious misconduct.
7. Ongoing Review
As AI technology continues to evolve, IAJOBHRM will periodically review and update this policy to align with best practices in academic publishing and ethical research standards.
