Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The International Academic Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management (IAJOBHRM) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism to uphold academic integrity and ensure the originality of published research. All submitted manuscripts are expected to reflect the authors’ own work and must properly acknowledge the ideas, findings, and words of others.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
-
Copying text, data, images, or ideas from other sources without proper attribution.
-
Failing to use quotation marks for directly quoted text.
-
Paraphrasing substantial content from another work without proper citation.
-
Submitting someone else’s work as one's own, including from students, colleagues, or online sources.
-
Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse significant portions of their previously published work without proper citation or justification.
Screening for Plagiarism
All manuscripts submitted to IAJOBHRM are screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent tools). The editorial office conducts this screening prior to the peer review process.
Acceptable Similarity Index
While a small degree of similarity may be acceptable (e.g., references, standard methodology, or legally required statements), a similarity index exceeding 15-20% (excluding references and quotations) may result in immediate rejection or revision request. The editorial team will evaluate cases individually to determine the extent and significance of overlapping content.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before or after publication—the journal will take the following actions:
-
Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected or returned to the author(s) for revision.
-
After publication: The article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued publicly. The authors’ institutions may also be notified.
-
Authors involved in serious ethical breaches may be blacklisted from future submissions to the journal.
Author Responsibility
Authors are solely responsible for the integrity and originality of their work. By submitting a manuscript to IAJOBHRM, authors affirm that:
-
The content is original and has not been plagiarized from any source.
-
All sources have been properly cited.
-
They understand and agree to abide by the journal’s plagiarism policy.
Educational Purpose
IAJOBHRM supports academic honesty and aims to educate contributors, particularly early-career researchers, on the importance of ethical writing and citation practices. Resources and guidance are available for authors unsure about proper citation and paraphrasing.
