Whistleblowing channels are significant tools used to enhance transparency, accountability, and ethical practices within multinational companies. With exposure to different laws and regulations as well as varying environments within different countries, it becomes a challenge for firms to remain compliant with all these requirements. The current research aims at exploring the use of whistleblowing channels as a strategy of enhancing compliance with various regulations and avoiding any kind of unethical conduct by multinational companies. Specifically, this research will explore the role of internal and external whistleblowing channels, anonymous whistleblowing channels, whistleblower protection, as well as corporate policies aimed at encouraging employees to blow the whistle. This is conceptual research that focuses on reviewing literature related to corporate governance and regulatory compliance. It will become evident that whistleblowing channels play a significant role in uncovering cases of fraud, corruption, financial irregularities, and other forms of unethical behavior in multinational companies. Furthermore, this research identifies some of the key challenges such as fear of retaliation, lack of trust among employees, cultural differences, issues with privacy of information, as well as legal differences in whistleblower protection laws within different countries. To conclude, the adoption of the whistleblowing process within the framework of compliance policy systems results in ethical decision-making and organizational sustainability.
